A renowned neurologist and Alzheimer’s disease specialist with decades of research experience, currently serving as a professor at a New York metropolitan medical center and former chairman of the National Medical and Scientific Advisory Council of the Alzheimer's Association. He was the founding director of the, Farber Institute for the Neurosciences at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia. As a pioneer in Alzheimer’s research, he has made significant strides in understanding amyloid proteins and their role in neurodegeneration. He has received continuous National Institutes of Health (NIH) funding for his research on amyloid metabolism since 1986.
